Poland and Montenegro Explore Deeper Cooperation in Agriculture

Poland and Montenegro are taking steps to strengthen their collaboration in the agricultural sector, following a meeting between Poland’s Undersecretary of State Adam Nowak and Montenegro’s Ambassador to Poland, Veljko Milonjić. The discussion took place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and focused on opportunities for expanding bilateral engagement.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Adam Nowak highlighted Poland’s support for the integration of Western Balkan countries, including Montenegro, into the European Union. He noted that EU accession would contribute to the region’s long-term stability and development. Nowak emphasised that enlargement should be based on established principles and substantive criteria, adding that Poland is ready to share its expertise in transforming agriculture to meet EU standards and requirements.

The officials also discussed the positive trajectory of agri-food trade between the two countries. Nowak pointed out that trade volumes have been steadily increasing and that there is room for further growth. He underlined the strong reputation of Polish food products, which are recognised globally for their quality, and emphasised that EU standards ensure their safety.

Both sides expressed interest in continuing dialogue and exploring additional areas of cooperation to support mutual economic benefits.
