President Zeki Demirtaşoğlu visited Hacı Ömer Güler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Seed Association (TÜRKTOB), at his office.
During the meeting, President Demirtaşoğlu provided information about the Milling, Bread, Pasta and Biscuit Training Centre planned to be established in Ankara and conveyed the contributions the centre will make to the sector. He also shared his thoughts on the activities carried out by DESMÜD and current developments in the sector. It was stated that the training centre will play an important role in training the qualified workforce needed by the sector, ensuring the transfer of knowledge and technology, and attracting young people to the sector.
TÜRKTOB, Turkey's highest professional organisation in the field of seed production, aims to develop the seed production sector, strengthen professional solidarity among real and legal persons operating in the sector, protect the economic and social rights of those involved in seed production, and fulfil the duties specified by legislation.
Under the umbrella of TÜRKTOB are the Plant Breeders Sub-Union (BİSAB), the Nursery Producers Sub-Union (FÜAB), the Seedling Producers Sub-Union (FİDEBİRLİK), the Ornamental Plant Producers Sub-Union (SÜSBİR), Seed Distributors Sub-Union (TODAB), Seed Industry and Producers Sub-Union (TSÜAB), and Seed Growers Sub-Union (TYAB) are affiliated with TÜRKTOB, and these sub-unions continue to collaborate and cooperate for the development of the seed industry.
It is anticipated that this meeting between DESMÜD and TÜRKTOB will contribute to the development of cooperation and joint projects in both the seed and milling sectors.
