The International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM), with a history spanning 130 years, is one of the world’s largest non-profit professional associations dedicated to the grain milling industry. Through its directorates in the United States and internationally, IAOM provides a platform for education, professional exchange, technological development and international cooperation across the milling sector.
The IAOM Eurasia Directorate, established in 2019, covers a region of 32 countries with a combined population of more than 2 billion and an economy valued at approximately USD 7.1 trillion. The region encompasses several of the world’s leading wheat-producing and flour-exporting countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Ukraine and European Union member states. Together, these countries play a significant role in regional and global grain supply chains.
Against this backdrop, IAOM Eurasia is preparing to hold its 5th IAOM Eurasia Conference and Exhibition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in September 2026. The event is currently scheduled for 28–29 September 2026 and is planned to take place at the InterContinental Hotel in Tashkent.
The conference is expected to provide a meeting platform for milling professionals and industry stakeholders from Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic countries, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Participation is also expected from the United States, the Middle East and Africa.
The event will bring together stakeholders from across the grain and food processing value chain, including grain, flour, pasta, bulgur and feed producers, as well as suppliers of milling machinery, laboratory equipment, ingredients, packaging and grain storage solutions. Representatives from yeast and bakery product companies, industrial bakeries, traders, research institutes, colleges and universities are also expected to take part.
Uzbekistan’s position within the regional grain and flour trade provides a relevant setting for the conference. Flour production has considerable cultural, economic and strategic importance in the country, while its milling industry serves domestic demand and supplies neighbouring markets. The sector is largely supported by wheat sourced from Kazakhstan, further strengthening the country’s role within the wider regional grain supply chain.
The 5th IAOM Eurasia Conference and Exhibition will therefore take place within a region that connects major wheat producers, flour exporters, milling companies, technology providers and other stakeholders across Eurasia and beyond.
