In a move set to reshape the global feed processing landscape, Desmet, a world-renowned provider of engineering solutions for the oilseeds, oils & fats, oleochemicals, and feed industries, has announced an enhanced strategic collaboration with Insta-Pro International, a global leader in high-shear dry extrusion technology. The expanded partnership aims to bring ExPress® extrusion-pressing technology to feed producers and integrated agribusinesses around the world.

The agreement enables ExPress systems to be deployed across a wider range of project scales, offering a transformative solution for the animal feed industry. Designed to provide solvent-free processing of oilseeds, the ExPress method is already gaining recognition for its exceptional performance — especially in poultry nutrition, where improved digestibility and animal growth metrics have been repeatedly demonstrated.

“Our collaboration with Desmet allows us to bring the proven nutritional benefits of ExPress technology to more feed producers and integrated operations,” said Jonathan Kingsbury, President & CEO of Insta-Pro International. “We’ve conducted over 200 university studies, with results like a 4.4% improvement in digestibility in poultry as just one example. Combining our nutritional expertise with Desmet’s global reach and engineering excellence is a natural fit.”

Central to the partnership is Desmet’s RoseDowns brand — a name synonymous with mechanical pressing innovation since 1777. With deep-rooted engineering excellence and global delivery capacity, RoseDowns mechanical presses are recognized as the gold standard for high oil-bearing seed processing, including soybeans, sunflower, and rapeseed.

“Through our commercial network, our collaboration with Insta-Pro helps bring industry-leading process expertise and equipment solutions from the RoseDowns brand to the ExPress system,” commented Olivier Hanne, President of Desmet. “We are proud that the Desmet RoseDowns Sterling press has been certified by Insta-Pro for use in ExPress systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients.”

The partnership has already secured its first joint project in Ukraine, where a prominent regional agribusiness will implement the ExPress system to boost both feed quality and operational efficiency. This milestone marks the beginning of the global rollout of ExPress systems and reflects a growing industry demand for solvent-free, high-performance feed processing alternatives.

With this collaboration, Insta-Pro and Desmet are poised to set new benchmarks in feed production by integrating innovative extrusion and mechanical pressing technologies with decades of industry expertise. The companies aim to deliver measurable value and sustainable solutions — from farm to feed mill — in an evolving global market increasingly focused on efficiency, quality, and environmental stewardship.
