Bunge Completes Divestiture of Grain Elevator Assets in Western Canada

Bunge has completed the divestiture of five grain elevator assets in Western Canada, marking a significant step in fulfilling its commitment to the Government of Canada as part of the regulatory approval process for its merger with Viterra.

The divested assets have been acquired by local operators. Direct Grain Limited has taken ownership of the Dixon, Saskatchewan, facility, while Linear Grain Inc. has acquired the site located in Fannystelle, Manitoba. BP & Sons Grain and Storage Inc. has purchased three additional locations situated in Beausejour, Tucker, and Coulter, Manitoba.

In addition, a tentative agreement has been reached for the sale of a sixth facility in Valparaiso, Saskatchewan. This transaction remains subject to approval by the Minister of Transport, with the closing expected shortly after the necessary authorization is granted.

Since July 2, these facilities have been operated independently from the rest of Bunge’s business under the management of an independent Hold Separate Manager. The separation and divestiture process have been overseen by a government-approved third party to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Separately from this divestiture commitment, Bunge has also sold its grain elevator located in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan, to F.W. Cobs.
