Brian Schouvieller Elected as NGFA Chairman

The National Grain and Feed Association has announced that members have elected Brian Schouvieller as chairman for a one-year term. Schouvieller serves as Senior Vice President of Agriculture, Trade, and Risk Management at CHS Inc., based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Previously serving as NGFA’s first and second vice chairman, Schouvieller has long been a member of the association’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee and has played an active role in advancing NGFA’s policy and industry priorities. According to the association, his experience in grain merchandising and global markets will be valuable in guiding efforts to strengthen U.S. agriculture’s competitiveness, support efficient supply chains, and advocate for policies benefiting industry participants.

This year’s election involved voting by NGFA member companies for directors and industry officers, as well as the ratification of amendments to the NGFA Trade Rules, Arbitration Rules, and Rail Arbitration Rules.

The elected NGFA officers will serve one-year terms:

  • Chairman: Brian Schouvieller, CHS Inc.
  • First Vice Chairman: Augusto Bassanini, United Grain Corporation
  • Second Vice Chairman: Jason Klootwyk, Agtegra Cooperative

The board members elected to serve three-year terms include:

  • Christopher DeLong, The DeLong Co., Inc.
  • Matt Gibson, Friona Industries LP
  • Kevin Gray, Morrow County Grain Growers, Inc.
  • Kurt Haarmann, Columbia Grain International
  • Kimberly Hawks, Louis Dreyfus Company
  • Mark Heil, Prairie Central Cooperative, Inc.
  • Julie Kenney, Agribusiness Association of Iowa
  • Jay Mathews, Prairieview Grain Trading LLC
  • Kellie Melton, Purina Animal Nutrition LLC / Land O’ Lakes
  • Aaron Meyerle, AgState
  • Brad Morrison, Primient Grain
  • Eric Perry, The Wenger Group
  • Jake Stagner, Landus Cooperative
  • Andrew Utterback, Ingredion Incorporated
  • Tom Wapp, POET Grain

Additionally, Emily Ashe (TEMCO LLC, Houston), appointed by the Texas Grain and Feed Association, and Eric Williams (MFA Incorporated, Columbia), appointed by the Missouri Agribusiness Association, will also serve on the board.

Schouvieller’s chairmanship is expected to continue advancing NGFA’s work in enhancing supply chain efficiency, strengthening the competitiveness of U.S. agriculture, and promoting industry-focused policy advocacy.
