Compared to March 2024, the value of exports increased by 4% ($87 million). This was mainly driven by an increase in the share of high value-added products such as sunflower oil, soya beans and poultry, as well as higher global agricultural commodity prices.
Average Export Prices (per tonne):
Egypt: 215 $
Sunflower oil 1,141 $
Wheat: $225
Soya beans 407 $
Poultry meat: 2,300 $
Growth in Processed Products
Significant increases were also recorded in processed food exports:
Bakery products: 24% increase ($7.7 million)
Butter: 254% increase ($7.3 million)
Cheese 32% increase ($1.4 million)
Major Importing Countries
The largest buyers of Ukraine's agricultural products:
Turkey $270.8 million
Italy: $171.1 million
Spain $170.4 million
Egypt $162.4 million
Netherlands $121.6 million
In total, 36 countries imported over $10 million worth of agricultural products from Ukraine.
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval said: ‘The agricultural sector remains the pillar of our country's economy even in war conditions, providing more than half of our foreign exchange earnings. While our producers remain competitive in the global market, we continue our efforts to diversify markets and increase exports of processed products.’
These data show that Ukraine maintains its strength in the agricultural sector despite the war conditions and maintains its critical role in the global food supply.
