World giant food and agriculture companies Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to evaluate cooperation opportunities in the agriculture value chain. The two companies will work together to improve food safety and sustainable agricultural supply chains.
Collaboration in Global Food Supply
In recent years, growing populations, climate change and consumers' shift towards sustainably sourced products have increased the importance of resilient supply chains in the food and agriculture sector. ADM and MC are adopting a cross-sectoral approach to address these global challenges.
While ADM will be characterised by its global presence in the agriculture and food industry, Mitsubishi Corporation will make a strategic contribution with its experience in different sectors such as energy, food and logistics. The two companies aim to develop joint projects in many areas from biofuel supply chain to food safety.
ADM and MC plan to take their long-standing co-operation further with this agreement. The companies stated that they are committed to producing innovative solutions to shape the future of the global agricultural value chain.
While this strategic alliance aims to increase sustainability and efficiency in food supply, it also sets an important example for other players in the sector. The steps to be taken by the two companies are likely to shape the future of the agriculture and food industry.
