Mariah Wollweber Joins American Soybean Association as Senior Director of Communications & Marketing

The American Soybean Association (ASA) has announced the appointment of Mariah Wollweber as its new Senior Director of Communications and Marketing. Based in the association’s Washington, D.C. office, Wollweber steps into her new role as part of ASA’s senior leadership team, bringing with her a rich background in agricultural communications and advocacy.

Stephen Censky, ASA’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating, “I’m thrilled to welcome Mariah to the ASA team. As a fifth-generation farmer with considerable experience managing a wide range of communications on policy issues important to farmers and rural America, I know that she will do an excellent job.”

Wollweber also shared her excitement about joining the organization. “ASA is known for turning the needs of soybean growers into meaningful legislative results. I’m proud to join their mission to champion American farmers and amplify their voices where it matters most,” she said.

Prior to joining ASA, Wollweber served as the Senior Director of Communications for USTelecom: The Broadband Association, where she led strategic communications efforts on complex legal and regulatory issues and collaborated closely with senior leadership to develop messaging and press strategies.

She also brings valuable experience from her time as Director of Communications and Partnerships at the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG). There, she oversaw communication strategies for advocacy campaigns on agricultural policy and managed the association’s digital outreach platforms.

Wollweber’s background includes roles as a public relations specialist for the Denver Regional Council of Governments, a public relations and sales coordinator for Visit Spokane, and a journalist and producer for a Spokane-based news station.

Raised on her family’s wheat farm in eastern Washington, Wollweber’s roots in agriculture run deep. From showing livestock to driving trucks and tractors, she remains closely connected to the farming community—one that she now continues to serve through her leadership role at ASA.

With Wollweber on board, ASA reinforces its commitment to advocating for America’s soybean growers through strategic and impactful communications.
