In the first eight months of the 2024–2025 season (September–April), Kazakhstan shipped more than 650,000 tons of grain to Russian and Baltic Sea ports, according to discussions at the 15th meeting of the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) and Russian Railways (RZD) joint working group.

The meeting highlighted growing trade volumes, including a 30% increase in container shipments on the China–Russia–China route, reaching over 132,000 TEU in Q1 2025. Additionally, cargo movement along the North–South International Transport Corridor’s eastern route surged by 63% in the same period.
