ANDRITZ has been awarded a significant contract by K2 Ethanol Pvt. Ltd, a pioneer in India’s biomass and biofuel sectors, to deliver fully integrated ethanol and animal-feed production plants. This milestone project will include the country’s first ethanol plant powered by agro-residue, marking a major step toward India’s renewable energy and sustainability goals.
The greenfield project, located in India, will feature an ethanol distillery with a daily capacity of 150,000 liters and an animal-feed pellet plant producing 400 tons per day. Designed as a multi-grain processing facility, the plant will contribute to India’s efforts to expand ethanol blending in fuel while simultaneously supporting the production of sustainable feed ingredients.
Under the agreement, ANDRITZ will take full EPC (engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning) responsibility, leveraging its proven global expertise and decades of experience in delivering large-scale industrial projects across the Asia-Pacific region. The company’s advanced process technologies and integrated solutions will ensure high efficiency, energy optimization, and long-term operational reliability.
“This project shows how advanced biofuel and feed technologies can strengthen energy security and support sustainable agriculture,” said Pavan Kumar Pawar, Vice President, South Asia at ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel. “We are proud to contribute our engineering expertise, comprehensive solutions, and global experience to help establish a new benchmark for integrated ethanol and animal-feed production in India.”
Rajpal Yadav, Director at K2 Group of Industries, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration: “This is an important project, not just for us and the local economy, but also for national and international sustainability targets. We knew we needed to involve ANDRITZ, with its proven track record in delivering technologies at scale, process know-how, and understanding of local market dynamics.”
The project reflects ANDRITZ’s commitment to advancing renewable energy and sustainable agricultural systems through innovation and technology. By combining biofuel and feed production under one integrated operation, ANDRITZ demonstrates how cross-sector expertise can deliver tangible environmental and economic benefits.
The value of the order has not been disclosed. It will be recognized in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the third quarter of 2025.
With this latest achievement, ANDRITZ reinforces its position as a global leader in sustainable process solutions, driving forward the transition toward renewable energy and circular agriculture in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
