Silos Spain has reached the final stage of assembly work on a 5,000-tonne capacity flat-bottomed metal silo in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The project, which has seen significant progress in the installation of the roof, integrates various technical systems that support grain storage and unloading processes.
The ANSI 22.92/12 model silo, with a diameter of 22.92 metres, was designed to meet large-scale maize storage requirements. The facility utilises ventilation, temperature control and mechanised unloading systems to monitor storage conditions and ensure the controlled unloading of grain.
The silo’s ventilation infrastructure consists of air vents and two centrifugal fans. The system helps manage storage conditions by facilitating air circulation within the stored maize.
The facility also features a CTC temperature control system, which enables the monitoring of temperature fluctuations inside the silo. This system supports the monitoring of the grain’s storage conditions.
Mechanised unloading and access equipment
Equipped with a TSB02 model internal scraper and a side-discharge system for unloading operations, the silo facilitates the collection of grain remaining at the base during the final stage of unloading. This arrangement is designed to minimise the need for manual intervention.
Detectors monitoring maximum and minimum fill levels, along with access ladders, are also part of the facility’s technical equipment. This equipment supports fill level monitoring and maintenance work.
The project in Guanajuato forms part of Silos Spain’s activities in the field of grain storage and handling in Latin America. Once installation is complete, the facility is expected to contribute to the region’s storage infrastructure with its 5,000-tonne maize storage capacity and integrated technical equipment.
