The Grains and Legumes Nutrition Council (GLNC) has announced the appointment of Courtney Draper to its Board of Directors, marking a significant addition to the organisation’s leadership team.
Ms Draper, a respected figure in Australia’s grain and legume sector, brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to the future of the industry. Her appointment is expected to enhance GLNC’s mission to promote the health and nutritional benefits of grains and legumes across the country.
Currently serving as the head of the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC), Ms Draper leads a broad portfolio of projects that position Australian grains as a preferred choice in global markets. Her expertise spans trade, market intelligence, and governance, making her a valuable asset to the GLNC board.
Raised in a multi-generational Australian grain farming family, Ms Draper combines deep-rooted industry knowledge with a personal passion for advancing the grain sector. A former lawyer, she has held several senior roles throughout her career, including a leadership position within AEGIC’s Market Insights team.
GLNC Chair Ron Storey expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating: “Courtney Draper’s appointment reinforces GLNC’s capacity as a key connector through the grains value chain; from end consumers and food manufacturers back up the chain to farm gate. Her AEGIC experience also connects our Australian nutrition and health trends with the global trends in export markets.”
The Council anticipates that Ms Draper’s strategic insight and industry experience will strengthen its efforts in promoting healthier and more sustainable diets for all Australians. Her leadership is expected to further support GLNC’s work in shaping the future of grain and legume consumption in both domestic and international contexts.
